Camp Olmsted

Olmsted Center is both a retreat and camp located on a 76 acre site in Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY and overlooking the scenic Hudson River. It is blessed with rolling hills, beautiful wooded areas, partial views of the Hudson and access to hiking trails on Storm King Mountain. The camp is owned and operated by Five Points Mission with oversight from the United Methodist City Society. As testimony to the historical significance of Camp Olmsted, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The purpose of Five Points Mission is to minister to the spiritual, social, and physical needs of people without respect to ethnic, race or spiritual orientation. Currently, the mission is carried out through the following two main activities:

  • Camp Olmsted Summer Camp - the ACA accredited camp is for youth ages 6 to 13 years old. It consists of four, 12-day resident sessions, which are held each summer beginning the end of June. Activities at Camp Olmsted allow campers learn, grow and make new friends in a fun, safe, nature enhanced environment. Programming includes swimming, nature, challenge/ropes course, computers and other recreational activities. Click here for 2008 rates and session dates.

  • Olmsted Retreat Center - a facility that provides children, youth and adults who come mostly from churches and not-for-profit organizations with a comfortable place to meet, participate in planned activities and lodge during the week and weekends throughout the year.
