THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Summer 2008 Session Dates:

  • Tuesday, June 30th - Friday, July 11th
  • Monday, July 14th - Friday, July 25th
  • Monday, July 28th - Friday, August 8th
  • Monday, August 11th - Friday, August 22nd

    Each session is for 12 days starting on a Monday and going through the following Friday(except for the 1st session).

    2008 Camp Fee: $395.00 ($350.00 per additional child) Nonrefundable deposit of $50 is due within 2 weeks of registration confirmation.

    There is a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee which is not included. Camp Olmsted offers need-based scholarships to some participants. Families requesting scholarships must present proof of income of all adults in the household before any type of scholarship award can be approved. The deadline for all 2008 scholarships is June 3rd.     Health & Medical Requirements: All campers must have age appropriate immunizations before they will be allowed to attend camp. We accept health examination forms for the current school year. However, we would prefer to have forms for exams completed after January 2008 Children without the required immunizations and medical forms will not be permitted to attend camp. Your child's health and safety are important to us. A nurse is available 24 hours a day and the closest hospital, Cornwall Hospital, is approximately 2 miles away from Camp Olmsted.

    What to bring:

    Clothing: Bathing suits, shorts, long pants, pajamas, raincoat, shirts, shoes, sneakers (comfortable for hiking), sweatshirts, jacket, underwear, socks;

    Personal Hygiene: Toothpaste, towel, washcloth, deodorant, soap, shampoo, brush and comb;

    Bedding: Sleeping bag or two sheets, pillow (optional); blanket;

    Miscellaneous: Paper, pencils, pens, envelopes, postcards, stamps, insect repellents (not spray), flashlight and batteries.

    Campers should NOT bring radios, tape decks, boom boxes, jewelry (ie watches, rings, brackelets, earrings, etc.), expensive cameras or money to camp. Camp Olmsted is not responsible for the loss and/or thief of any of these items. CampOlmstedArtwork

    Refunds: Refunds are available for cancellations made a minimum of 14 days in advance. The $25.00 registration fee is not refundable.

    Unacceptable Behavior: Olmsted staff will not tolerate any behavior that is violent or threatening to other campers or camp staff. Any camper that is violent or creates a hostile environment for campers and/or camp staff will be sent home immediately. If your child is sent home for behavioral reasons, you are not entitled to a refund.
